The Lion and the Owl — An Original Painting

Introducing one of my original pieces of work: The Lion and the Owl. This piece brings together two of nature's most iconic and symbolic creatures in a single, captivating composition — the lion, bold and powerful, and the owl, wise and watchful.

About the Painting

There's something deeply compelling about placing these two animals side by side. The lion represents strength, courage, and the untamed spirit of the wild. The owl, by contrast, embodies quiet wisdom, mystery, and the ability to see clearly in the dark. Together, they speak to a balance we all seek — the courage to act and the wisdom to know when.

This painting was created using mixed media on canvas, layering rich ochres, deep burnt siennas, and cool midnight blues to evoke both the warmth of the savanna and the stillness of a moonlit night.

The Story Behind It

The idea for this piece came to me during a meditation session. Thinking about the strength of the lion and the wisdom of the owl we need a balance of strength and wisdom to be successful in our everyday life.
