Walking On Autumn Sunshine

"Walking On Autumn Sunshine," was inspired by the beautiful autumn tones in my garden and on my walk around Longford Tasmania where I live. Autumn is one of my favourite seasons.

In the painting the young girl is looking forward to her walk through the forest surrounded by autumn colours and falling leaves. She appears to be almost skipping as she enters the scene. There is some mystery around where the walk will lead her as the path disappears around a corner in the distance. She is stirring up the fallen leaves with every sweep of her long dress, as she walks. A cheeky little parrot is looking down at her quizzically. 

As a young girl I loved the experience of running through the fallen leaves from the trees, I enjoyed searching for the different shapes and colours of autumn leaves and cataloguing them, it is a wonderful memory.
