Found in the Crystal springs off the Florida coast the Manatee is unique. Manatee's need warm water to survive and the only affection they show is towards their young. They congregate in the Crystal Springs during winter to take advantage of the warmer water and people flock from all over the world to swim with these beautiful creatures. Their numbers were in decline a few years ago because the grass they eat from the floor of the crystal springs had been contaminated. A campaign to save the manatees was launched and divers removed the rotting vegetation and re-planted the grass the Manatees feed from. I have entitled this painting. "Save the Manatees." it is 18" x18" square and comes ready to hang with a certificate of authenticity. This is part of a new series of underwater paintings entitled "The life Beneath us."
